About The Underground Collaborative
The Underground Collaborative is a Perth-based social enterprise that creates employment and housing solutions for people experiencing, or at-risk of homelessness.
Their vision is to break the cycles of homelessness through collaboration in providing employment and housing solutions.
We believe creating change in our own lives empowers us to explore ways of helping to bring about beneficial change in the lives of others.

Katie Liew is the Founder of The Underground Collaborative. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Accounting and Business Law and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
After being made redundant, Katie decided to take time off and travel to Africa and developing countries, where she was able to grasp the meaning of poverty in its truest sense. Here, she rediscovered her passion for volunteering, social justice, and international aid.
All the wrong turns Katie had made in her career as an accountant, were soon discovered to be a blessing in disguise, and now Katie dedicates her time to The Underground Collaborative.
A major project the Collaborative has undertaken is Ground+Co. Ground+Co is a micro-café nestled in the Perth CBD serving up yummy brews on their coffee cart, Billie. They're passionate about producing great coffee, but there’s more – they not only employ people from disadvantaged backgrounds, but 100% of Ground+Co’s profits are reinvested back into training and employing people experiencing, or at-risk of homelessness.
How does The Underground Collaborative align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs)?
